ICGH 2023

Introduction

The Government of India, in collaboration with MNRE (Ministry of Renewable Energy), hosted a 3-day mega event, the International Conference on Green Hydrogen, from 5th to 7th July 2023, at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. The primary objective of this conference was to coincide with the launch of India's Green Hydrogen Mission on 4th January 2023. The mission aimed to establish a comprehensive Green Hydrogen Eco-system in India. The conference itself was designed to delve into recent advances and the latest technologies across the entire Green Hydrogen value chain. It provided a valuable opportunity for participants to explore the evolving green hydrogen landscape and engage with the global scientific community and industry.

The 3-day event featured plenary talks and panel discussions with industry experts and professionals. The conference also focused on green financing, human resource upskilling, and startup initiatives in this area. This event was attended by notable personalities such as Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, and Shri Raj Kumar Singh, Minister of Power & New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India.

Problem

The International Conference on Global Health (ICGH) faced significant challenges in disseminating critical information and raising awareness about the event due to the absence of a functional website. With over 1500 delegates expected to attend from both overseas and within India, the lack of a centralized online platform hindered communication of updates, schedules, and other pertinent details. This created a barrier to effectively engaging attendees and maximizing the impact of the conference.

Solution

To address the communication and awareness challenges faced by the ICGH, a comprehensive solution incorporating both website development and social media marketing was implemented. By leveraging live tweeting during the event and collaborating with the Ministry of New Energy for social media marketing efforts, the conference organizers aimed to overcome the limitations posed by the absence of a functional website.

This multifaceted approach aimed to ensure that attendees, both domestic and international, were well-informed about the event's proceedings, updates, and relevant information. Additionally, the strategy aimed to enhance the visibility of the conference, attract a wider audience, and foster meaningful engagement among participants.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the integration of live tweeting and social media marketing proved to be an effective interim solution to the challenges faced by the International Conference on Global Health (ICGH). Despite the initial setback, the collaboration with the Ministry of New Energy and the strategic utilization of social media platforms facilitated the dissemination of critical information, updates, and schedules to the diverse pool of delegates expected to attend the conference. While this approach helped mitigate some of the communication barriers, it also underscored the importance of having a centralized online platform for future events to streamline information dissemination and enhance engagement further. Moving forward, investing in the development of a robust website will be crucial for the ICGH and similar conferences to ensure seamless communication, maximize attendee participation, and amplify the impact of their initiatives on a global scale.
