About Coursera
Coursera is one of the world's leading online learning platforms, offering courses, specialisations, and guided projects from top universities and industry leaders. It gives learners access to global academic content, certifications, and hands-on projects across every field, from computer science to management to biology. For higher education institutions, Coursera has become a way to bring global learning standards into everyday classroom teaching.
Project Overview
Rishiraj Media was brought on to create a faculty testimonial video capturing how educators across departments have integrated Coursera into their teaching and curriculum. The video features seven faculty members, including professors and doctors from computer science and allied departments, sharing their real experiences of using Coursera with students.
The goal was simple: let the faculty speak in their own words about the challenges they face in the classroom, and how Coursera has helped them address those challenges directly.
The Challenge
For this project, the key challenges were:
- Capturing genuine, unscripted responses from multiple faculty members across different departments and specialisations.
- Weaving together varied perspectives, from classroom engagement to certification value to industry relevance, into one coherent narrative.
- Keeping a multi-speaker format engaging for viewers, rather than letting it feel like a series of disconnected clips.
- Reflecting the depth of Coursera's offering (courses, guided projects, specialisations, authorship tools) through real faculty voices instead of a scripted pitch.
Our Approach
Rishiraj Media focused on authenticity and flow, letting the faculty's own words carry the message while shaping the structure around it.
1. Interview Direction
We worked with each faculty member to draw out honest, specific answers about their day-to-day teaching challenges, from keeping young students engaged to meeting global learning benchmarks. This ensured the responses felt personal rather than rehearsed.
2. Narrative Structuring
Rather than presenting the interviews as isolated statements, we structured the video to build a story: starting with classroom challenges, moving into how Coursera addresses them, and closing with plans like guided projects and course authorship. This gave the video a clear beginning, middle, and end despite having multiple speakers.
3. Highlighting Range and Depth
We ensured the edit captured the full range of Coursera's use cases mentioned by faculty — self-paced learning, peer review assignments, opinion polls, discussion prompts, guided projects, and specialisations — so viewers could see the platform's versatility through real examples rather than a feature list.
4. Industry Relevance
Faculty spoke about specific, in-demand courses, from cybersecurity specialisations to civil engineering software, and how these improve student employability. We made sure these concrete examples stood out, since they add credibility that generic statements cannot.
Results
- The video successfully captured seven distinct faculty voices while maintaining a single, cohesive narrative.
- It highlighted the breadth of Coursera's offering, from self-paced modules to guided projects to authorship tools, through real classroom experiences.
- The testimonial format built credibility by showing genuine impact rather than promotional messaging.
- The final video positioned Coursera as a platform that faculty actively use and value, not just a certification add-on.
Conclusion
This project shows Rishiraj Media's ability to turn raw, unscripted faculty conversations into a structured, compelling testimonial video. By focusing on authentic voices and building a clear narrative around them, we helped Coursera present a genuine, on-ground picture of how the platform is shaping teaching and learning in higher education.
